Children's Church was an exciting spot this week as Julie D. had a great object lesson. Six girls participated in watching Julie demonstrate how God makes each of us different and beautiful. Children's Church is held every Sunday during the second half of the first service. Pray for our children as they learn about God and His plan for their lives.
Bret, Owen and Brady stand with the suit of armor promoting this fall's youth activities. Jake has announced that the senior high youth will be called FULL METAL YOUTH and the junior high's will be the LAKEWOOD SQUIRES. Both groups will be based on Ephesians 6:10-11 which refers to the "full armor of God." Youth groups will begin meeting on Sunday, September 9, with lots of great things being planned.
How awesome to hear of Jacob Atem's work with the South Sudan Health Care Organization. He was our guest speaker this week and brought news of the Health Work he is doing and an update on the tractor that our church sent this past year. His inspiration and faith gave us a sense of what God is doing in his life and in the mission. Praise God for Jacob and how he has worked to share God's love with others.
It was time to celebrate at Lakewood this past Sunday as we shared in Pastor Dave and Beckie's 40th Wedding Anniversary. Two great big cakes were baked by Janet T. and the coffee hour was in honor of the special day. May God bless both Dave and Beckie as they celebrate 40 wonderful years together.
Jesus loves the little children.....and so do we at Lakewood! How wonderful to have newly born Caleb C. with us this week! Charlie C. was also here as well as his older brother Hunter......do you need a hug? Hunter C. has LOTS of them to share. Babies and children bring a smile to our hearts....may God bless the children and our families this week!
It's amazing how many groups of people connect on Sunday mornings! Just sit back sometime and listen and look around......there is a LOT of conversation. What a gift God has given us as we fellowship together. May we be an encouragement to each other and as fellow Christians continue to pray for one another. Life at Lakewood aims to glorify Jesus in all we do.....may our fellowship please Him too!
